Interconnecting Doors and Acoustic Doors

%%Interconnecting%% and %%Acoustic%% Doors

Pyropanel Acoustic doors have been tested for acoustic resistance by various different independent testing laboratories, Most Pyropanel acoustic doors have perimeter and bottom seals which meet the NCC/BCA specification for smoke doors some have additional smoke testing to Australian Standards and come with Life Safety Door compliance. Pyropanel Acoustic doors can be installed in either timber jambs (subject to fire resistance requirements) or steel frames that are filled with an approved packing material. Because acoustic performance is very reliant on the correct installation of the door leaf and door seals.

Applications

Acoustic doorsets can be installed on pressed metal or wood door frames; they are available in both hinged and sliding styles.

The acoustic door frames must be carefully detailed, with any necessary backfilling made sure of, and fastened to the wall system with acoustically certified techniques and sealants.

These doorsets are commonly used in a variety of environments, such as concert halls, recording studios, executive meeting rooms, schools, and flats.

Advantages and Features

  • Offered in both single and double leaf designs, adaptable to pressed metal or timber door frames.

  • Independently tested by NATA approved laboratories.

Certification

Our doorsets are in compliance with the following Australian Standards:

  • AS 1191 "Method of Laboratory Measurement of Airborne Sound Transmission Loss of Building Partitions."
  • AS 1276 "Acoustics - Rating of sound insulation in buildings and of building elements - Airborne sound insulation" (now AS/NZS ISO 717.1).

What is FRL and RW?

FRL is fire-rated and RW stands for weighted sound reduction index.
